Privacy Policy
This explains what PlatformVoice collects, how it's stored, who we share it with, and how to get it deleted. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than boilerplate. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@platformvoice.com.
What we collect
If you create an account: your username, email address, and a profile picture, if you sign in with Google or X (Twitter) rather than email. We also store your session data (so you stay signed in) and, if you subscribe to PRO, your subscription status and billing history, not your card number, which our payment processor handles directly (see "Who we share data with" below).
If you record without an account: we recognize repeat visits using a fingerprint generated from your browser (not tied to your name or email) so a recording you make can later be linked to an account if you decide to sign up.
The recordings themselves: the audio you record, an optional title, and playback stats (like play counts). If you record feedback anonymously through someone else's feedback link, that recording is never linked back to you.
Technical data: we use an error-monitoring tool to catch crashes and bugs. When something breaks, it may capture technical details about the request that failed (not the content of your recordings).
How your recordings are stored
Every voice recording is encrypted before it's written to storage, using AES-256-GCM with a unique key generated per file, not one shared key for everything. Our servers decrypt a recording only for the moment it takes to serve it to someone authorized to hear it; it never sits on disk unencrypted.
Whether a recording is public (playable by anyone with its link) or private depends on how you created it: quick notes are public by default so they're easy to share, while diary entries and feedback responses are private by default, visible only to you (or, for feedback, to the person who set up the feedback request). You can change a recording's visibility at any time.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We do use a small number of service providers to run PlatformVoice:
- Cloudflare stores your (encrypted) audio files and serves the app.
- Google / X (Twitter). If you choose to sign in with one of these, they handle that authentication; we only receive your basic profile info.
- ElevenLabs. If you use a PRO voice-changing or voice-cloning feature, the specific audio you apply it to is sent to ElevenLabs to process. Recordings you don't apply this to are never sent there.
- Lemon Squeezy handles PRO subscription billing and payment details directly; we never see or store your full card number.
- Sentry is our error-monitoring tool, described above.
Your rights and choices
Deleting a recording: if you're signed in, you can permanently delete any recording of yours at any time from your dashboard. This removes it from storage entirely, not just from your view.
Deleting a cloned voice: PRO users can delete any voice they've cloned from their voice settings at any time.
Deleting your account: we don't yet have a self-service "delete my account" button. Email hello@platformvoice.com from your account's email address and we'll delete your account and everything tied to it.
Guest recordings: if you recorded without an account and never sign up, that recording stays linked only to your browser fingerprint, not an identity. Email us with the link to a recording if you'd like it removed.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and recordings for as long as your account is active. If you delete a recording or your account, we remove it. We don't keep hidden backups around indefinitely for deleted content.
Children's privacy
PlatformVoice isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where practical, let you know directly.
